CloudQuery
An open-source ELT solution focused on performance.
Summary
With CloudQuery, I was engaged to use my experience in Live Coding and Public Speaking to initiate their Developer Advocacy efforts.
This involved creating plugins, speaking at conferences, producing articles, blogs, and content for YouTube (including Live Streams) - averaging 1.2k views per stream/video.
The content ranged from high-level introductions aimed at executives and decision-makers to low-level technical content demonstrating how to implement various solutions and dashboards.
I also consulted on the creation and optimisation of a Python Plugin SDK and accompanying Python Plugin Template to enable users to create custom integrations, as the majority of Data Analysts, DevOps Engineers, and Platform Engineers (the core audience for the product) primarily use Python as their programming language.
How it was built
Working primarily in Python and leveraging my Platform Engineering and DevOps capabilities, I created both written and video content to demonstrate the project and the solutions that could be built with it.
The process started with monitoring trends and search terms using Ahrefs and AnswerThePublic to identify themes and queries that mattered to the target audience.
Once the target keywords were selected, the process began with writing a tutorial for the blog and then recording an accompanying video using OBS, Vegas Pro, and Photoshop. Once completed, I optimised the positioning using A/B testing to match the target audience on Google (SEO) using Ahrefs and YouTube using TubeBuddy and VidIQ.
